But, OK, it’s a great way to burn of the 4:30-5:30 stir crazies!

So Maggie is two.
Man, is she two.
She’s walking and talking like the best of them and she absolutely knows how to let you know how she feels (she’s a lover and a fighter!). It is so great to see her little human being emerge. I feel like I’m getting a whole new girl!
And we had a lovely time celebrating the start of her third year with the usual suspects, doing the usual b-day things, St. Alonzo style. I was a little concerned that we’re riding this mellow party train a bit too far (ie, the guest list and party planning are kept REALLY simple), but I think the day was plenty fun for the big girl.
A sleepy start…
but the girl can rally!
Because she’s “Maggie see, Maggie (monkey) do”
Never the fan of the b-day song, that one, but SUCH a fan of the chocolate. My girl.
YUM.
Got net?
Thanks, everyone, for coming around. I think you helped make Maggie’s day.
Can’t be missed ‘round these parts!
So, we headed down to join Dave’s brother, Brian, and his family for game day.
Now, I’m no fan of football (read: REALLY not a fan), however, I’ve come to appreciate a few things about bowl day: the yummy food, the mellow mood and the chance to get in some quality time with some favorite peeps.
And I think the girls are coming to appreciate the same things.
Phoo. I thought I had more pix from that day, but I guess not. Oh well, I think this one captures the idea.
So some of you may recall that my mom asked my (Zoe) baby shower attendees to include books in their baby gifts to us.
Well, I’m *quite* happy (ok, yes, and proud!) to report that those books (and the many others we’ve been given over the years) have been well used.
Love it.
Maggie is a ham.
She’s a great little mimic and is game for the show. So there’s no wonder she loves the chest of dress-up clothes – so much so we can’t keep her out of it?
These days, with the holidays past us and as we’re rolling into the new year, aside from an occasional birthday or two (or three), the days are unfolding fast and furiously. And I am, like never before, amazed at what it takes to keep up.
So obviously, I’m not really keeping up.
Which leaves me to mull over what matters, what matters most and what doesn’t matter at all.
And you, faithful followers, will be pleased (I assume, hope) to hear, that my blog survived the chop. I am still committed to documenting, as regularly as I can, the chronicles of our lives as a family.
So, with no further ado, I’m saying adieu to the backlog of photos and am releasing them into the ethernet, into perpetuity (ok, ok, on with it). They are now off of my to-do list and man, that feels so good.
More of your favorite sweet, silly faces to come…
