Raspberry picking! July 2013
Fridays off rock! I nabbed the idea on just the right day – late enough in the season AND cloudy NOT rainy!
And these pictures pretty well speak of the fun for themselves!
Strawberries were a nice idea but a PITA to pick…better than the stupid tayberries (those measly few dark ‘raspberries’ that tasted like soap and pricked your fingers!)
Daddy got in on the ‘fun’, too!

Fun Family 4th–July 2013
It’s turning into a tradition: we make the long trek out to Long Beach to hang with Brian, Tammy, Hannah, Cameron and the Alonzo extended family and have a great time!
We decided that given the landing of the 4th on Thursday, we’d blow out of town early on Wednesday and make a nice long weekend of it. Yay for that. However, it appears that most of Western Washington had that idea, too. Oh well, who cares if you have to pitch your tent at 9pm? It’s all in the adventure, right?
Parade day at school = goofballs in the back seat!
warming up for fall soccer…
and pitching a fit in “private”
family circle
S’mores: serious bidness
Auntie’s snuggles
Mom was there, too!
staying a safe distance from neighbor launches
various displays of glee and wonder
sacked.
Good sport, Hannah
Obligatory pic @ the giant frying pan
Girls’ first golf…Maggie’s first FOUR holes in one!
and this was one of the holes in better shape!
Homeward bound dinner…at the pay and pack? (it wasn’t too bad, though! Vinnie’s Pizzeria?)

Maddie takes Shoreline–June 2013
Seeing that I was useless in helping Nana and Pepere in their move up to Shoreline because I’d failed to come up with good coverage for the girls that day, I decided to make myself useful to someone’s move and offered to take Maddie for the day while Chris helped mom and dad and Erin crammed in some baby-free packing time.
I’ll say it was an adventure. Not because our destination was particularly exotic and exciting (we were headed to the Shoreline Farmer’s Market) and not because the children were particularly challenging (really, they weren’t, especially Maddie), but because it took far longer – in time and distance – than it should for anyone getting from our house to the market, even with a six year old, four year old and 5 month old in tow.
Three bus transfers and ~ 1.5 miles of walking later, we were a bit done, but still smiling more or less.
Love these girls.
