We did it! Despite all the moving about (Nana and Pepere’s relocation to Shoreline, selling of the Buckley house and Chris, Erin & Maddie’s move out of the townhouse and into the Klasey’s), we managed to get a trip together. It was a great little jaunt over to Manchester. So glad we do this.
These girls love their ferry rides
Gratuitous excellent shot of the Seattle waterfront
Oddities along the way
Cool fact: Maddie’s first camping trip was nearly exactly four years after Maggie’s in the exact same campsite in which Maggie had *her* very first camping trip (and the same “office” and high chair, too!)
I’m quite remiss over the fact that I failed to get a shot of Nana and Pepere who were there, I swear!, too.
Campin’ girl – she’ll be an expert like her big girl cousins, soon enough!

The way we are now–August 2013
Dave and I were together 18 years and we were a family for 6 1/2 years before we finally caved and bought a second car.
It’s a great car – a certified 2012 Subie Outback with *all* the bells and whistles (sun roof! heated leather seats!). I won’t kid myself and deny that it’s a mommy car…but at least it’s NOT a minivan!
I mention this because this decision was largely precipitated by the fact that our little family is growing up and we are heading down the slippery slope of the two-kid, two simultaneous activities/commitments syndrome. And it begins with soccer.
We had played hookie to buy this car, surprised the girls by picking them up together (me and Dave as opposed to just me) and were awaiting our pizza to arrive at our table when up popped the message from coach Keith: soccer starts next Wednesday at 4:30.
4:30?! how the heck are we gonna… oh yeah. THAT’S what the second car is for…
Anyways, that’s also a roundabout way to introduce Zoe’s new gig: a spot on the 6-U Hillwood girls team.
Cuteness.
First game! Go Shooting Stars!0
Zoe, Millie and Izzy
Where’d that ball go? (Millie, Riley, Zoe)

Family friends gathering–August 2013
My troop of girlfriends decided our families saw way too little of each other and decided to set some dates for family gathering at various houses. Liz, helped by Becky & Tim, was gracious enough to offer her lovely bungalow in West Seattle for the first fete. It was great.
No suits? No problem! (Seriously Zoe, I said yes. Go ahead. REALLY!)
